Dr. Tamika S. Hood
Tamika is the Founder and CEO of Couture Coaching, which offers a tailor-made coaching experience to support women on their journey to unlocking their fullest potential and purpose for their life. As a Certified Professional Diversity Coach, Tamika brings a DEI lens to her coaching style. Furthermore, Tamika is a DEI coaching instructor and a mentor coach for those seeking to earn their certification in DEI coaching with Coach Diversity Institute.

Tamika is also the Founder and CEO of Divine Destiny Publishing, under which she published her debut book, Out of the Wilderness: Weathering Life’s Storms from Trial Through Triumph. Furthermore, Tamika is an inspirational speaker who presented a Ted Talk on Macro/microaggressions and guest lectures at The University of Maryland.

As a Strategy & Advisory HR Consultant working with clients across the country, Tamika successfully leads innovative and intricate projects in DEI assessments, performance management, HR effectiveness, culture assessments, talent management, and process improvement across the HR life cycle. By developing strong partnerships with executive leaders, Tamika has become a change agent in organizational development and organizational leadership.

Tamika earned her Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, where she is an Adjunct Professor. Dr. Hood also earned her master’s in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from the University of Maryland and her Bachelor of Science in Mass Communications from Virginia Commonwealth University. Tamika also holds professional certifications, including Professional in Human Resources (PHR), Society for Human Resource Management Certified Professional (SHRM-CP), Mindfulness and Acceptance for Intercultural Competency and Social Justice, Certified Professional Diversity Coach (CPDC), and Professional Certified Coach (PCC).

Tamika is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, the Society for Human Resource Management, the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology, the International Coaching Federation (ICF), and the International Personnel Assessment Council (IPAC). Tamika is a devoted Child of God, wife, and mompreneur who enjoys spending time with family, traveling, and writing spiritually inspired poetry.

Our Story:
Like many of us, Tamika has faced many obstacles-depression,
family feuds, work woes- but found the power to push past the
pain with support from her mentors and her faith in God. Through encouragement, empowerment, and purpose-planning with spiritual guidance, Tamika was able to triumph over her trials. In life, we all face difficulties, but it's not about the challenges but how you turn your obstacles into opportunities by overcoming them.
Those seeming setbacks transformed into a setup for Tamika to support other women who need guidance in unlocking their fullest potential and purpose for their life. Tamika leveraged her life lessons and psychology-savvy to create Couture Coaching.
